30 Paddlers lined up for last nights twilight blast around the buoys. A massive Div Two field including five of the fairer sex drove off the line with John Bamford getting the chocolates from Andy Flakemore and Marty Demangone.
In the womens Allie Britton just scraped home in front of Jodie Templar with Cathy McCombe taking third. Allie and Jodie's times were good enough for 6th and 7th in Div Two so expect these two to continue to push each other and put the blokes under a bit of pressure as the season continues.
Div One saw another dominant performance by Ben Maynard taking the win by 28 seconds with Seb Spinks in second being chased home by Ace Petrie in third who lead home the strong chase group that had battled to get on level terms the entire race.
The next twilight race will move to three laps for Div One and the addition of Division three. We still need more volunteers for the safety boat too so don't be shy. Check out the events calendar for the link to this weekends Ocean Race.
