Please ring and book accomodation with the resort directly - just say its for the Southern Paddlers races. If you are looking to share with others and are having trouble finding people its probably because you haven't got any friends... Send us an email and we will try to hook you up but remember we are not a dating service.

There will be a BBQ on the Saturday evening (BYO meat and salad) after the race, drinks are available from the bar. The whole purpose of the weekend is to paddle somewhere different and to create an environment where we can all relax and have a good time. Wives, grilfriends, kids etc.. are all most welcome (probably not a good idea to bring your girlfriend if your wifes coming!) The resort will have the pool ready to rock n roll for a dip so bring the togs and the family and have a good time.

How to Get There - follow your nose to Orford continue towards Triabunna until you see the signs for the Eastcoaster Resort about 1km after Shea's Creek.

Race One 12 Dec 09

We will all meet between 12.30 and 1pm in front of Prossers Cafe in Orford just before you head over the river . We will depart the cafe at 1.10pm sharp. From there we will inform you of the race course and will endeavor to start around 2pm.

At this stage the forecast is for 20-25knt Westerly winds so a course will probably be set heading out towards Oakhampton to take advantage of the wind direction.

As with every other race so far this year we will send out an SMS the meeting time and location on the morning of the race.

Race Two 13 Dec 09

Meet 9am Eastcoaster Resort for final course confirmation

Starts 10am ish

Once again the weather will determine the course but at this stage the likely option is for a run starting from Rheban South of Orford up the Mercury Passage to Oakhampton. From the finish everyone can head home.
